Reality Reorientation Experiment
Reclaim your relationship with reality.
A free four-week experiment in time, place, embodiment, and conscious participation.
FREE · FOUR WEEKS · BEGIN ANYTIME
Much of modern life reaches us through a layer of representation.
Schedules tell us where to be. Notifications tell us where to look. Headlines tell us what is happening. Metrics tell us how things are going. Algorithms decide what appears next.
These tools help us navigate the world. They can also become the world that receives most of our attention.
We can spend entire days responding to representations of reality while barely encountering reality itself.
What happens when we change our relationship to reality?
A reality reorientation begins by changing our reference points.
Instead of beginning with what we need to accomplish, improve, or figure out, we can begin by paying attention to what is already here and what becomes visible when we enter into relationship with it.
For four weeks, the Reality Reorientation Experiment invites you into relationship with four teachers from the living world:
You can begin exactly where you are. A pebble. A neighborhood tree. Rain against a window. A glass of water. The night sky above your home.
The living world is already here.
Stones → Trees → Waters → Stars
FOUR WEEKS. FOUR LIVING TEACHERS.
Each week, you turn your attention toward a different teacher from the living world, exploring what becomes visible through direct relationship & practice.
STONES
Deep Time · Stillness · Gravity · Belonging
GROUND
TREES
Rootedness · Structure · Integrity · Habitat
ROOT
WATERS
Fluidity · Change · Adaptation · Continuity
FLOW
STARS
Perspective · Vision · Emergence · Mystery
ORIENT
You can learn about a tree.
Its species. Its anatomy. How it grows, communicates, adapts, and participates in the ecosystem around it.
You can also sit beneath one.
You can learn about water.
Its chemistry. Its cycles. How it moves through landscapes, bodies, weather, and living systems.
You can also slowly drink a glass of water.
You can study cosmology.
Stars, planets, galaxies, deep time, and what we have learned about the universe we inhabit.
You can also walk outside at night and look up.
Both are ways of knowing.
The Reality Reorientation Experiment brings them into relationship: what we can learn about the living world and what becomes available through direct attention, embodied experience, and repeated encounter.
Because encounter can become relationship.
A tree becomes different when it is no longer simply a tree.
This tree. In this place. That I can return to.
EDUCATE → EMBODY → EMPOWER
Each week of the Reality Reorientation Experiment follows the same learning rhythm.
EDUCATE
Learn about each teacher through ideas and perspectives that give context to what you’re exploring.
EMBODY
Bring that learning into direct experience through simple practices of attention, sensation, observation, and relationship.
EMPOWER
Reflect on what you discover and begin bringing those discoveries into the way you live.
Learn about the world. Experience it directly. Notice what changes.
Notice the patterns shaping your life.
As you change what you pay attention to, you may begin noticing your own life differently.
Your IP’s is an EMUNAH methodology for noticing the patterns that shape how you feel, how you live, and what becomes possible through your choices.
Throughout the Reality Reorientation Experiment, you’ll begin gathering interconnected information about:
INPUTS
The actions, habits, relationships, environments, and experiences that nourish your system or pull you off center.
PEOPLE & RELATIONSHIPS
The relational patterns that influence how you feel, connect, respond, and move through the world.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHIES & PRACTICES
The values, principles, rituals, and ways of living that guide you and help you return to yourself.
PURPOSE & PASSION
The meaningful work, creativity, pleasure, expression, and possibilities that organically emerge when your system is supported and aligned.
Across the four weeks, you simply pay attention, gather what you notice, and let your own experience become information.
What begins as noticing gradually reveals patterns.
Your Life Belongs to You. You Belong to Life.
Your life belongs to you.
As you become more aware of the patterns shaping your life, you gain greater capacity to participate consciously in what happens next.
You can notice what nourishes you, what guides you, what shapes your relationships, and what brings you alive.
You belong to life.
Your life also unfolds within relationships, places, bodies, histories, ecologies, and a living world that you are continuously shaping and being shaped by.
Agency and belonging can exist together.
